Petty Troubles is a live orchestral pop album featuring the songs of Matt Montgomery, orchestrated by Brian Adam McCune, and produced by Brendan West. Petty Troubles is also the title of the companion documentary, directed by Isaac Pingree, that chronicles the process, perks, and pitfalls of recording an independent album live in one day with 30 Bay Area musicians. Though risky by design and imperfect by nature, we are extremely proud of the results. We hope that you’ll enjoy our labor of love.

Front of the line, plenty of time We've waited here for so long Bags have been packed, take one look back Smile and wave a goodbye It's yours, it's mine, the weather is fine So take a step to the sky This time we're there Us on top of the world So sweet, so fair We're on top of the world with no gravity at at all So pretty in white, dazzles my site it's been that way all along Friends are all here, their love so near voices burst out in song it's yours, it's mine, the weather is fine So take a step to the sky This time we're there Us on top of the world So sweet, so fair We're on top of the world with no gravity at at all What was will always be

Activation, from desolation take a good look around simple pleasures, and no pressure all it takes is a sound So take a listen, uncover your ears and Petty Troubles will soon disappear Eyebrows raising, embracing all the fates that arrive So many choices, but your voice is all it take to decide So leave a message after the tone 'cause I don't know when again I'll be home Take a listen uncover your ears and Petty Troubles will soon disappear Sometimes it seems that everybody's waiting for you to faux pas Don't be afraid to explain that you're not listening but in your dreams it's never so unlikely for you to succeed Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba bah Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba Do do do do do do do do do So don't waste your time with Petty Troubles You could waste your time listening to the wrong things So leave a message after the tone 'cause I don't know when again I'll be home Take a listen, uncover your ears and Petty Troubles will soon disappear

Though I Try 03:34
I can't speak for everybody Though I Try Though I Try in every way I can only have so many points of view at a time at a time, it's getting crowded Tell me how I'm supposed to think Tell me all the things I'm aching to hear Hold me close I'm scared again I can' see behind eyes that aren't my own that aren't my own, Though I Try, Though I try I can never ever seem to please all of my invisible friends invisible friends, Though I Try Tell me how I'm supposed to think Tell me all the things I'm aching to hear Hold me close I think I'm helpless

Intent on sleeping in just another year Throw the clock and daydream Autumn's getting near The leaves that fall will cover all Block out the rain Block out the sunshine I'm comfortable right here Oh I'm comfortable right here Don't take me from my fortress on the hill I've worked to hard to turn back so until the time is right I think that might stay here for a while Towers form surrounding Brambles twigs and leaves A Thousand Years forgotten No one needs to grieve The leaves that fall will cover all Block out the rain Block out the sunshine I'm comfortable right here Oh I'm comfortable right here Don't take me from my fortress on the hill I've worked to hard to turn back so until the time is right I think that might stay here for a while Open the door for me Let in the misery Let in the sun to see Winter's almost here and I'm hungry again Block out the rain Block out the sunshine Block out the rain Block out the sunshine No More

Looking at the stars alone Crystal skies we make our own private wishes The wind is not always gentle a breeze can be monumental though we're barely aware Riding on the waves that pass nothing hurts and nothing lasts there's just tomorrow An idea and not much more but it could be what we're hoping for New beginnings can't be very far I'll be wishing on a fallen star Wishing on a fallen star burns so brightly from a far a memory though it's gone we see it now dead for years but yet some how it feels so near an idea and not much more but it can be what we're hoping for New beginnings can't be very far I'll be wishing on a fallen star I'll be wishing on a fallen star
